Controller

The Controller will be a full-time employment opportunity and will be located in the Rockland County, New York region. If you can plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff, you might be right for this position. What you get to do every single day - Handle monthly and yearly close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations G/L analysis - Meet client expectations by reviewing deliverables of self and team to make sure they meet client satisfaction - Manage the production of the yearly budget and forecasts and monitor them monthly - Prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, daily cash management - Advance Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed, with research, planning and implementation - Support punctual cash collection by managing the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques - Lead the operations of the finance department which includes accounts payable, billings collections, and payroll - Evaluate, apply and refine policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies - Present executive committee and partners with monthly financial reports - Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure that firm-wide operation is efficient and effective - Able to perform additional tasks beyond formal job duties If your background and experience aligns with the requirements of this opportunity, please send your resume in a Microsoft Word document to Joe Ciavardini at joseph.ciavardini@roberthalf.com for immediate consideration. Requirements: - Excellent technology, analytics and management experience required - Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines - Microsoft Excel experience desired - Self-starter and strong ethical standards - Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred - Detailed and have the ability work independently - Prior experience in a public accounting environment is highly valued - Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity - Excellent analytical, quantitative and social skills - BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field - Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations - Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred - Excellent oral and written communications skills


Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
