Manager, Warehouse

Description Job Summary - a concise overview of the job The Manager, Warehouse Operations manages cross-functional groups that include warehouse operations and inventory control. The Manager provides leadership, coaching and mentoring to all colleagues within the organizational structure and is responsible for setting goals for the department, tracking them through metrics and managing on-going operational performance. The position manages all activities related to production control (inventories, warehouse and controlled substance storage) and works closely with Quality on regulatory and compliance training and execution.  The Manager maintains the warehouses and shipping/receiving areas in audit ready condition at all times and adheres to departmental budgets and/or looks for opportunities for cost savings. The Manager also drives and leads major project initiatives as they relate to the various departments.  All incumbents are responsible for following applicable Division & Company policies and procedures. Scope of Authority - span of control (work unit, site, department, division, etc.), monetary value of budget/spend authority ( capital, operating, etc.), P&L responsibility, etc. Manages departmental budgets.   Key Accountabilities - key outcomes/deliverables, the major responsibilities, and % of time Accountability Responsibilities % of Time Warehouse Operations   Oversees all distribution operations for the warehouse, assuring timely, accurate, and cost effective deliveries.   Directs cycle counting procedures to maintain accurate inventory.    Ensures all cGMP practices are followed for the storage and handling of drug products to include controlled substances.   Maintains and administers all departmental policies, SOP's and training. 35% Compliance & Audit   Ensures compliance with all safety and regulatory guidelines.   Maintains the warehouses and shipping/receiving areas in audit ready condition including upholding a strict level of cleanliness.   Ensures that all documentation is up to date and easily accessible.   Maintains an on-going relationship with Supply Chain for inventory and shipments issues.   Manages the storage and handling of controlled substances in the warehouse.   Must be current with all federal counterfeit drug regulations, E-pedigree state laws, and ASN rules & regulations with the wholesalers. 40% Cross-Functional Support   Maintains training records for all colleagues in your organization and ensures 100% compliance to training guidelines.   Works with finance on a monthly basis to ensure all shipments and customer orders have been processed and/or resolved for months end.   Works closely with Quality and Regulatory on all related issues; participates in audits as needed. 25% Total 100% Qualifications Education & Experience Minimal acceptable level of education, work experience and  certifications required for the job   Minimum of a Bachelor's degree, preferably with a business, technical and /or Supply Chain focus.   Minimum of 8 years' experience in Supply Chain Operations.   Project management experiencepreferred.   Experience with Six Sigma/Process excellence tools, training or certification.   Shipment of Hazardous Material transportation certification.   APIC's certification preferred. Knowledge Proficiency in a body of information required for the job    e.g. knowledge of FDA regulations, GMP/GLP/GCP, Lean Manufacturing, Six-Sigma, etc.   Knowledge of US and international transportation and distribution practices.   Knowledge of Code of Federal regulations Title 21 part 210 and 211, and DEA rules and regulations for distribution/storage/manufacture of controlled substances is a must.   Must have working knowledge of serial shipping container code (SSCC). Physical Requirements Physical & mental requirements     e.g. lift 40 pounds, walk across plant/warehouse, business travel (% of time), driving as part of work responsibilities, etc.   Able to sit and stand for up to 8 hours.   Able to walk through production areas.   Able to lift up to 30 lbs. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
