Director, Hospital Marketing

Description Job Summary - a concise overview of the job   The Director, Hospital Marketing (PSP) develops and executes marketing plans using promotional resources, customer insights, analytics and modeling and translates plans and forecasts into tactical plans to achieve product's financial objectives. Conducts market and customer research by leveraging professional audiences to improve understanding of product consumer behavior, uses cases, patient care and operational consideration. Validates the profitability and viability of new products or product enhancements. Manages marketing budget for assigned product and is responsible for the financial effectiveness of assigned product.  Develops credibility with stakeholders to achieve effective support and implementation. Monitors progress of implementation versus plans and recommends adjustments as needed.  Quantifies the financial impact of marketing initiatives and activities. Develops marketing strategies and tactics to ensure effective product placement relative to market opportunity, working closely with product development for a specific product, brand, or product area over its entire life cycle.  Serves as technical adviser, demonstrating products and troubleshooting product issues.   All incumbents are responsible for following applicable Division & Company policies and procedures. Scope of Authority - span of control (work unit, site, department, division, etc.), monetary value of budget/spend authority ( capital, operating, etc.), P&L responsibility, etc. Par Sterile Products (PSP), both generics and brands, in the U.S.    Key Accountabilities - key outcomes/deliverables, the major responsibilities, and % of time Accountability Responsibilities % of Time Marketing Strategy   Performs the on time and on budget execution of the tactical business plans in support of product objectives.  Addresses barriers and maximizes opportunities to drive results. Uses influencing skills to align team members and stakeholders with the plan objectives. Works with a  mix of stakeholders to ensure effective implementation support   Provides information and advice to support the creation of the product strategy plan   Translates marketing plans and supportsforecasting and the development of tactical business plans to achieve the financial objectives of the product   Performs planning and implementation of key tactics including, but not limited to, professional promotions, public relations and conventions, Par Sterile website development; ensures adherence to budget product strategy and adherence to all FDA regulations   Develops and presents product and sales strategy at sales meetings   Recommends product related research, and provides analysis and information gathering on opportunities, challenges, competitors, pipeline, pricing, promotions, packaging and label design, reimbursements and disease to assist in development of strategy.   Responsible for the development and management of the PSP customer advisory board. 30% Sales Strategy & Operations   Provides direction for the execution of the sales strategy. Verifies that sales materials are aligned with the strategy and that content meets the objectives, and complies with all regulations   Translate marketing and sales strategy to training programs including process and materials for implementation   Contributes to the development of the sales teams' territory alignments, budgets, and compensation plans.  Manages the analytics for the creation of the sales strategy 20% Product Champion   Acts as a product champion and expert on most aspects of the product.   Gathers and maintains up to date information on sales and market share, and information with promotional potential   Participates in the development of launch plan tactics   Participates on cross functional, multidisciplinary teams and contributes to reaching product and launch objectives   Participates in supply discussions with manufacturers, develops inventory strategies, and communicates product availability information to stakeholders  20% People Management   Supervision and career development of staff 20% Budget   Contributes to the development of the forecast, 5 year plan and budget   Manages and monitors ad agency hours and project flow to keep costs within budget and adheres to planned milestones and deadlines.  Selects vendors and signs off on ad agency estimates of proposal. 10% Total 100%   Qualifications Education & Experience Minimal acceptable level of education, work experience and  certifications required for the job   Bachelor's degree; MBA preferred   Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree or MSdegree in nursing.   10 years of industry related experience in pharmaceutical marketing and Health Systems related work specific to pharmacy, sterile add-mixing or nursing Knowledge Proficiency in a body of information required for the job    e.g. knowledge of FDA regulations, GMP/GLP/GCP, Lean Manufacturing, Six-Sigma, etc.   Track record of successfully achieving business goals   Record of successfully working with cross-functional team members   Preferred experience developing and implementing POA plans and meetings   Experience in pharmaceutical sales preferred; management experiencepreferred Skills & Abilities Often referred to as "competencies", leadership attributes, skills, abilities or behaviors that may be enterprise, functional or job specific       e.g. coaching, negotiation, calibration, technical writing etc.   Quantity - Meets productivity standards; Completes work in timely manner; Strives to increase productivity; Works quickly.   Analytical - Synthesizes complex or diverse information; Collects and researches data; Uses intuition and experience to complement data; Designs work flows and procedures.   Managing People - Includes staff in planning, decision-making, facilitating and process improvement; Takes responsibility for subordinates' activities; Makes oneself available to staff; Provides regular performance feedback; Develops subordinates' skills and encourages growth; Solicits and applies customer feedback (internal and external); Fosters quality focus in others; Improves processes, products and services.; Continually works to improve supervisory skills.   Interpersonal Skills - Focuses on solving conflict, not blaming; Maintains confidentiality; Listens to others without interrupting; Keeps emotions under control; Remains open to others' ideas and tries new things.   Teamwork - Balances team and individual responsibilities; Exhibits objectivity and openness to others' views; Gives and welcomes feedback; Contributes to building a positive team spirit; Puts success of team above own interests; Able to build morale and group commitments to goals and objectives; Supports everyone's efforts to succeed.   Ability to work collaboratively. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
